Population in age bands:

The initial page shows the total population of the Henley enumeration districts including the eastern districts of Rotherfield Greys parish divided into 10 year age bands:

For the 1841 census, the age of adults (over 15 years) was rounded down to a multiple of 5, but in subsequent years was given as an integer number of years. For bands that are multiples of 5 years this is unimportant, but will distort the 1841 population for other age bands.

The 1841 census was taken on June 6 and the 1851 census on March 30. The interval was therefore 2 months short of 10 years potentially moving about 1.7% of the population from one 10-year band to another.
